Hi,
I am one of the volunteers behind the project ETI LAN Tools ( www.eti-lan.xyz) It is our intention to prepare games as easy as possible for LAN events. For this purpose we invented the P2P LAN Launcher. BF2142 is of course also on the list of our favorite games. We have currently packaged a 1.51 version with FESL login emulator. But actually it would be my wish for a real "LAN version", which would work without this login server. Apart from that we kept the server as portable as possible. It can be started on every client with two clicks, a further configuration is not necessary. The client then has to know the IP address of the server and enter it when starting the game. The trick is that we write it dynamically into the Hosts file, so we don't have to change the client's binary. Not so great... but works first. Why do I write here? We want to offer our support to build a server/client package with Project Remaster MP. We have a large user base to which we could provide the package directly. Of course we also get a lot of feedback from the players/users when something doesn't work. I think that our projects might benefit equally. Let me know what you think. ethlien

Cool project, as a LAN host I can appreciate the effort to get games working, as well as make them quick and easy to access. I'm also particularly adamant about the P2P (/local-hosting /direct-connection) support as that is what proper LANs are about. While Project Remaster MP caters for the wider online community (rather than just LAN hosts) and is built on game version 1.51, I want to mention that LAN play works perfectly on v1.20 when simply using the offline profile. Everything's unlocked with the FFolkes Unlocks mod 1.2c, which I've merged with Project Remaster for my own LANs. The only downside of v1.20 I've found is the lack of the map Highway Tampa, which crashes when I try porting it back, a small price to pay for completely avoiding the master server issue. BTW I sent you a PM about BF3

I just updated the Menu_client.zip changed the buttons and fixed the join server windows issue. I will also be updating the main menu icons eventually. still trying to fix the rank popup box. I don't mind that more players for bug reports would be nice. you probly already have this 127.0.0.1 ea.com 127.0.0.1 battlefield.ea.com 127.0.0.1 messaging.ea.com 127.0.0.1 eapusher.dice.se 127.0.0.1 fesl.ea.com 127.0.0.1 bf2142-pc.fesl.ea.com 127.0.0.1 stella.ms5.gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 stella.prod.gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 stella.master.gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 stella.available.gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 gpsp.gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 gpcm.gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 news.gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 gamestats.gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 motd.gamespy.com 127.0.0.1 master.gamespy.com

These retarded cloudflare protection killed my prepared post. This board platform is not for me. To answer your questions shortly: yes, it is of course completely free (but not open source yet) and made solely for making LAN parties simply better. We change both server-ip and client language at runtime. If there are any questions about the implementation, I would suggest to just try the app. The server is completely portable and can be installed with one click (just like the game client). Maybe this preliminary work can contribute something useful to a Remaster MP package. Some example start up code we use partially: pastebin.com/raw/j3fYk4Y9

Try to post the raw content of the pastbin-link as bb-"code" tag and you'll get a Cloudflare error.
