The tests where done by me and a friend, using win7 and win10 (latest updates and drivers for AMD and NVIDIA)
So many ppl notices a strange "frame" or static image overlaying the firstperson camera, when looking at an specific angle or a thing on the map.
This bug originates from a shader (used for active camo from the recon-class and theexplosion blast effects) and the graphical settings of the game.
I made two videos showing the bugs in first person and third person.
Fact/Infos/Bulletpoints?:
-The catalyst is a shader, thats purpose is to blurr the screen.
-The big static frame gets you, when you look at someone or only in his direction who is having an active cloak. You normaly see the body of a cloaked person as a blurry outline/blob, imagine he is only 99% invisible.
-The image you see then is an artifact from an earlier time where the shader got applied to you.
-This is the case when you use active camo on your self, or when getting tinitus by a frag grenade/RDX explosion near you (image getting blurry, high pitch noice comming).
-The bugs shows itself even when someone is actively cloaking, even behind cover, behind a house, behind a mountain or somewhere betweenof Fog of war and your view angle.
-The bug get applied when having an about 120° view angle at a cloaked person, like above distance doesnot matter (in our tests!).
In understandable words:
Everytime the shader first starts working (by you activating camo or getting hit by frag/RDX, resulting in tinitus [(image getting blurry, high pitch noice comming)] ), a single frame is "recorded", like a fotograph.
The image gets displayed again to you, when you look at someone/his mere direction being cloaked. The normaly blurred outline of the cloaked body gets overwritten with your last glimps of the frag/rdx/camo you took sometime earlier.
->Everytime you activate cloak or get hit again by a nade, a new image is saved and shown when you look at the direction of someone being cloaked, resulting in different images from the (blasted) past being shown.
What can we do about this?
graphics settings, since we noticed t random that a fresh install of bf2142 and a
clean profile (you start with 800x600 4:3, low settings) could show
bots getting invisible without glitches.
this bug only appears when AA (Anti_Aliasing) is enabled in the graphics
settings, it doesnt matter if 2x, 4x or 8x.
capable of rerendering the transparent/blurr effekt. (I'm pretty sure it could render AA two years ago, i use the same windows since 2014)
SO NOT USE AA x8 IN THE BATTLEFIELD 2142 GRAPHIC-SETTIGNS!
Use only AA x4. You can also use ReShade to enforce additional MSAA (any level) tothe game.
Also Nvidia Controlpanel and AMD Catalyst (or what ever AMD calls their graphics software) can apply AA settings which are safe to use.
